Description:
QLC will be hosting a social group for pre-teens with social differences. Children ages 9-13, developmentally at a 3rd grade level or higher are welcome to join. The sessions will be led by Erin Faulkner, a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst with assistance form Family Support Specialists. Michelle Garcia Winner's curriculum "Social Thinking and Me" will be utilized, along with other books. Cost is $5 per child each week.
**Concepts covered will include: expected and unexpected behaviors. flexible vs. stuck thinking, thinking with your eyes, hidden rules and more.
**Since we are covering a curriculum, it is important that each child attend as often as possible to make sure they grasp each concept, before we move on to the next one.
**Depending on each child, additional parental/adult supports may be needed.
**Sessions will be offered at QLC's main office at 215 Smelter Ave. NE.
