Informed Citizen Series Description:
With grants from Humanities Montana and in cooperation with Enbar, the Great Falls Public Library is hosting The Informed Citizen Series. Each event will bring an expert in local news to share insight and experience to help develop a more informed citizenry.
Oct. 3, Enbar: Dennis Swibold, “What Happened to the News?” This program shows the challenges the Internet and social media pose to the credibility and financial sustainability of the news media, especially local news.
Oct. 10, Enbar: Courtney Cowgill, "Newstrition" Carrots and journalism have more in common than you might think. Cowgill shares what she’s learned after 20 years in the media and 10 years of farming—when it comes to feeding themselves with either food or information, people will support something they can trust.
Oct. 16, Great Falls Public Library: Panel Discussion, local news media leaders share how they get their news and pass it on.
