2018 Robotics Workshop ArmBot Commander Description:
The program is to teach young minds the value of the sciences. With hands on expertise and real working projects. To test the projects we offer challenges to the students to test their creations. Our next class has a cost of 40.00 per student per kit. The kit and parts are included in the cost of the classes. You must register in advance send your check to:

Students age 8 and up male or female may attend as room provides. The class will focus on learning construction techniques as well as 3D printer concepts. We use two 3D machines a Davinci and a Makerbot clone. Our Engineers reserve the right to change the syllabus as needed.

As the class is broken down into a concise syllabus please note in some cases a day may take more time than an hour. Classes will start on the Tuesday after Labor Day. September 11th at 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm, special times for this workshop may change for Home Schooled students, please inform us of your class size and intent. The classes will be held in the Fellowship Hall of the Light House Church located at:

2018 Robotics Workshop ARM_BOT Great Falls Robotics Syllabus

DAY1
BASE CONSTRUCTION
Measure and cut structure material 4
Center cross and hot melt pieces and glue in place and secure
Cut two centers out and save for later, glue additional pieces.
Modify servo motor (MSERVO)
Test MSERVO with a battery in both polarities.

DAY 2
CONSTRUCT UPGIGHT
Glue MSERVO to the center of the base
Test base SERVO rotation, install and secure with miniscrew.
Layout upright pattern from the plastic upright jig
Glue 4 sides together and drill top pin holes.
Modify Gripper servo into an MSERVO glue to the top of the UPRIGHT
Glue two support pieces onto the rotating MSERVO

DAY 3
PINCH_GRIPPER ASSEMBLY
Drill and tap holes inserting a 6/32 screw.
Install Wire motivator
Bend in place and add Z_BEND
Construct ARM install and glue tube
Cut and measure gripper structure piece to hand
Glue arm onto hand
Hot melt Glue and secure in place

DAY 4
CONTROL BOX CONSTRUCTION
Use project box and layout jig and mark and drill 6 holes into the project box
Install with wires onto brass brads and feed wire thru hole and bend to secure
Bend and make two switch arms. Connect all wires and twist points
Install two battery packs and two AAA batteries.

DAY 5
PROJECT CATCH UP TIME
Students can use this time if needed to finish their projects.
Students will have the opportunity to create their own game scenarios
Projects will judged by originality and inventiveness
