Description:
Make it a date night of romance. Sip wine amd savor dinner at your favorite restaurant, then join us for an hour of passionate, live music. Howard Hanson’s "Romantic Symphony" premiered in 1930. He aimed to “create a work that was young in spirit, lyrical and romantic in temperament, and simple and direct in expression.” Let Cesar Franck’s lush, evocative, richly chromatic, and deeply affecting Psyche and Eros surround you.
The Dallas Morning News reviewed our guest artist William Hagen: “Even in an age when brilliant young violinists seem to grow on trees, Hagen is a standout. He tossed off the most virtuosic passages with amazing precision, but he also made music ... he always knew where the music was going and why.” Hagen will perform Dvorák’s beautiful Romance, and the dazzling Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso by Camille Saint-Saëns.
After the music, join us on stage for refreshments. Mingle and meet the musicians and conductor, share your appreciation, ask questions, and get to know your Symphony!
