He aimed to “create a work that was young in spirit, lyrical and romantic in temperament, and simple and direct in expression.” Let Cesar Franck’s lush, evocative, richly chromatic, and deeply affecting Psyche and Eros surround you.

He tossed off the most virtuosic passages with amazing precision, but he also made music ... he always knew where the music was going and why.” Hagen will perform Dvorák’s beautiful Romance, and the dazzling Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso by Camille Saint-Saëns.
